Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need a Predator Gear Drysuit?

You hunt in brutal conditions.

Waterfowl hunting requires considerable time, energy and treasure. Every active hunter has experienced water over their hipboots or waders. Your Predator Gear Drysuit can prevent a miserable, shortened, or cancelled day in the field making sure you get the most fulfillment from what you’ve put into the sport.

The confidence and agility gained by wearing a Predator Gear Drysuit frees you to become a true apex predator.

What is a drysuit?

A drysuit is one piece outerwear suit designed to increase your comfort and safety in the most challenging conditions. The Predator Gear Drysuit is the first and only drysuit ever made for hunting.

Its revolutionary design uses a neoprene neck seal and latex wrist seals combined with completely waterproof zippers to keep water out.

When wearing your properly maintained Predator Gear drysuit only your hands, neck and head can get wet – even when you are swimming.

What type of hunting are they for?

Any hunting that involves small boats, open water, bitter cold, or walking extended distances. Drysuits, when properly worn and maintained, can make hunting in tough conditions safer.

The Predator Gear Drysuit’s lightweight, yet durable construction makes it ideal for walking long distances especially in soft mud. No longer will your foot lift out of your wader boots impeding progress and causing frustration.

The Predator Gear Drysuit is also ideal for hunting out of small boats in cold water. If you hunt sea ducks, eider or other waterfowl offshore in freezing temperatures the Predator Gear Drysuit is perfect for you. The Predator Gear Drysuit when properly worn and maintained provides major advantages over waders when in the water. While waders can fill with water leading to hypothermia and drowning a Predator Gear Drysuit keeps water out keeping you safer and warmer longer.

Why are they different from waders?

Waders are for sitting still in a blind. Try walking across a mudflat in waders, after ten steps you are exhausted from the heavy construction and your heel lifting out of the boots.

Waders are also dangerous if you fall in the water offshore, they fill with cold water making mobility impossible and quickly creating a life-threatening situation. With a Predator Gear Drysuit you stay dry and mobile allowing you to swim to safety, potentially helping others in your party and saving your gear.

The Predator Gear Drysuit solves both your wader and jacket needs, unlike waders, you don’t need to have an additional expensive outerwear jacket.

What is the material?

The Predator Gear Drysuit is made of a 4 layer waterproof breathable polyester laminate using Mossy Oak Brand camo patterns.

What kind of footwear do I need?

A pair of stocking foot wader boots with soles, and insulation to fit your hunting conditions. Wearing lace up wading boots over the Predator Gear Drysuit’s waterproof booties dramatically increases a hunter’s agility and mobility. This combination minimizes energy lost and allows you to stay out longer and travel further into your hunting terrain.
